You will be pleasantly surprised when stopping in at Joes Bar as we have some of the best food on the island. Chef Anne Spettel pays strict attention to providing high quality, affordable food. Our dive bar menu is full of island favorites that began “back in the day” with our house-made Sloppy Joes, which remain a favorite.
Many of our friends stop in for a “traditional Joe” or top theirs off with their favorite cheese. Joes is the only place on Put-in-Bay with a custom blend, 7 oz Steakburger which is hand-crafted just for our customers. Try it plain or as one of our specialty burgers like Joes “Jacked-Up Burger” which is not for the faint of heart. This one is topped with jalapeño jack cheese, crispy jalapeños, and a drizzle of our jalapeño ranch dressing. We also offer a quarter pounder that is just perfect for the smaller appetite.
Our all-beef hotdog is served in a variety of combinations, and scores rave reviews. Our biggest seller, the “Sloppy Scotty,” is our beef hotdog, nestled in a buttered & grilled New England roll. It’s topped with our house-made Sloppy Joe, fresh diced onion & mozzarella cheese. (Warning: a fork may be needed for this).
Our best-kept secret is our all-beef Slow-Smoked Bologna. Enjoy a thick-slice of our smoked and fried bologna laying atop our ever-famous buttered & grilled brioche bun. Top it with your favorite cheese, if you please. This baby will melt in your mouth.
Joes also offer many other favorites, including our fresh grilled chicken sandwiches as well as the “Beyond Burger” for our meatless friends. For the ultimate in comfort food, try Joes Macaroni and Cheese. It’s served by the bowl and topped with bacon bits. It will leave you grinning from ear to ear. We’ve got appetizers to share, including our Sloppy Joe Dip, topped with Nacho Cheese & served with house-made tortilla chips.
